Series Rules and Regulations

  • One entry per Farm.
  • Show can be run concurrently within existing 4 Horse Hitch shows already in a Fairs current programing.
  • Series points are calculated for attendance only, not based on placement. These points will be distributed evenly, and can be obtained through an open class or a breed class at the qualified Fair.
  • Only one 4-Horse hitch class per day can be calculated.
  • 1 point will be awarded for participation, per qualified class.
  • Combined Hitches must consist of the same original two farms throughout the entire series to Qualify for the Finals.
  • Hitch does not need to complete the class, but must enter the ring (blown shoe)
  • Drivers and helpers must comply with the qualified Fairs Agricultural Society’s rules and code of conduct at each participating Fairs.
  • OVHS committee has the rights to remove anyone for conduct unbecoming, professionalism is required at all times.
  • $2000 will be awarded to the Farm which has the most points accumulated by Sept 21st 2023. If a tie occurs the money will be split evenly at a minimum of $500.
  • $1000 will be awarded to the Farm which has the second most points accumulated by Sept 21st 2023. If a tie occurs the money will be split evenly at a minimum of $500.
  • $500 will be awarded to the Farm which has the third most points accumulated by Sept 21st 2023. If a tie occurs the money will be split evenly at a minimum of $200.
  • In order to receive the winnings for the most points accumulated in the series you must hitch in the finals. If the winning hitch does not participate in the finals it will be awarded to the second highest hitch with the most points accumulated, and so on.
  • Top 10 hitches with the most points will be invited to the finals. A minimum of 4.5 points will be required to compete in the finals.

  • Carp Fair September 23rd
  • Metcalfe – October 1st

OVHS FINALS at Carp Fair

  • Finals to be held Friday evening at Carp Fairgrounds. 7pm start
  • Finals qualifications are based on points, top 10 Hitches with the most points will qualify.
  • 4.5 points minimum will be required to participate in finals
  • Qualified hitches will be contacted to confirm if showing at Finals. Replacements will not be added.
  • If a tie occurs at any placement they will be counted as sperate placements. For example if three hitches are tied at 7th this would equal 10 hitches for the finals.
  • If a 10th place tie occurs at end of show season- Finals will expand to include all hitches tied at 10th.
  • Finals to be panel judged by the three different Breed Judges at Carp Fair.
  • Hitch will be required to compete in the class in order to receive payment
  • Finals money to be paid out that evening in cash.
  • If finals are rained out, the finals money will be paid out equally to all hitches qualified for finals and on the fair grounds.
