To enter exhibitions at Carp Fair, you can fill out our Exhibition Entry Form online by clicking the link at the top of this page under "Enter Now" or visit the Carp Fair Office in person. Be sure to review the specific exhibition guidelines for entry requirements and deadlines.
Yes, participants are often allowed to enter multiple exhibitions as long as they meet the eligibility requirements for each exhibition.
Please apply as soon as possible to ensure your application is accepted. Set deadline dates will be updated once finalized.
Winners will be notified by email or phone after the judging process is completed. Results may also be posted on our website or announced during Carp Fair events.
Yes there is a fee for entry which varies by exhibition. Few our application process at the top of this page to learn more.
In most cases, participants can withdraw their entries before the deadline. Contact us directly if you need to withdraw your entry.
We are Proud to Host The Ottawa Valley Hitch Series!
The Ottawa Valley Hitch Series is a new four horse hitch series designed to support the incredible Draft Horse hitch exhibitors from Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec. With 16 qualified fairs in the series, these majestic horses and their talented exhibitors will be competing for over $10,000 in premiums.
Don’t miss out on witnessing these stunning Draft Horse shows over the coming months. It’s a spectacular display of skill, strength, and tradition that you won't want to miss!
Series Rules and Regulations:

Entry: Each farm may enter only once.

Concurrent Shows: Shows can run concurrently with existing 4-Horse Hitch shows in a Fair's current program.

Points Calculation: Points are awarded solely for attendance, not placement. Points are evenly distributed and can be earned in open or breed classes at qualified Fairs.

Daily Limit: Only one 4-horse hitch class per day is eligible for point calculation.

Combined Hitches: Combined Hitches must include the same two original farms throughout the series to qualify for the Finals.

Participation Requirement: Hitches must enter the ring to earn points, regardless of completion (e.g., due to a blown shoe).

Conduct: Drivers and helpers must adhere to the rules and code of conduct of the Fair's Agricultural Society at each participating Fair.

Professionalism: The OVHS committee reserves the right to remove participants for unprofessional conduct.
Prize Structure:
$2000: Most points accumulated by Sept 26th, 2024. Ties split evenly ($500 minimum).
$1000: Second most points, ties split evenly ($500 minimum).
$500: Third most points, ties split evenly ($200 minimum).
Finals Information:
Qualification: Top 10 hitches by points qualify for finals. Minimum 7.5 points required.
Event Details: Held Friday evening at Carp Fairgrounds, starting at 7pm.
Judging: Finals judged by three different Breed Judges.
Payment: Hitches must compete in the finals to receive payment, distributed in cash that evening.
Contingency: In case of rainout, finals money equally distributed among qualifying hitches present at the fairgrounds.

Great time at the Carp Fair Friday! It was bracelet day and busy... but so much fun! We were there for 6 hours and got on most of the fair rides, saw lots of farm animals and some beautiful horses 🐎 Had some yummy eats at the vendors, the mini donuts were a huge hit with the family!! We'll be back next year!
